Code of Conduct

The DHDO Code of Conduct is core to the organization, its staff, operations, and management. It provides clear guidance on the standards of behavior and professional conduct that all individuals associated with DHDO are required to uphold.

All staff members, vendors, volunteers, interns, consultants, and partners commit to the following principles:

1. Humanity, dignity, and the protection of life come first.
2. Assistance is provided impartially and without discrimination, guided solely by need.
3. We remain neutral and do not advance political, religious, or ideological agendas.
4. We act independently, free from external or governmental influence.
5. Harassment, discrimination, abuse, exploitation, and gender-based violence are strictly prohibited, and safe, respectful, and inclusive environments are upheld.
6. We respect local cultures, customs, and social contexts.
7. We build on and strengthen local capacities and resilience.
8. We promote participation and inclusion of affected people in decisions that concern them.
9. Our actions aim to meet immediate needs while reducing future risks and vulnerabilities.
10. We are accountable to the people we serve and to those who support our work.
11. We communicate responsibly, portraying people with dignity and respect.
